In 2011, Samuele Zanella traveled to Australia for a year. To explore the country and improve your language skills. At this point in time, he had long harbored the desire to be able to create music. In Sydney he then meets many songwriters and learns from them how to put melodies on paper, what the structure of a song can look like and how to approach the writing of lyrics. With this new talent in his luggage, he returns to Switzerland, where he has been living for six years.

Samuele grew up with his two younger brothers in Rome, with a Swiss mother and an Italian father. All brothers moved to Switzerland for their education. But the time is not only ripe for personal new beginnings, but also for the founding of the first band. Samuele and his youngest brother Mattia soon found like-minded people - The Two Romans started their career in 2015.They win the Emergenza Bandcontest 2015 and can perform at the Taubertal Festival in Germany.

They are busy and released three EPs on their own in 2015, 2016 and 2017. The releases and numerous concerts attract attention: while working on their first album, they are signed by a well-known music publisher (Schedler Music) and then actively used as songwriters for other artists. The debut album was released in April 2020. This climbs straight to number 4 in the Swiss album charts, 9 of the 12 album tracks are played on the radio in all parts of the country and in Germany. The public radio, SRF 3, chooses a title as "Song of the Day", while the northern neighbors The Two Romans are played by stations such as rbb, BR1 and SWR3.

The band also quickly made a name as a live band - since it was founded, they can already look back on more than 150 concerts, including illustrious names such as the Montreux Jazz Festival or the Gurten Festival. The busy band from Thun has big plans - and the signs for The Two Romans are good.
